The Leader is a British daily newspaper, published in Chester, Cheshire, England.

History and operations[edit]

It was launched in 1973 as The Chester Evening Leader, and was Chester's first daily newspaper.

It initially began as the Wrexham Evening Leader,[when?] which also later spawned the Flint and North Wales Coast editions. The newspaper was renamed to The Leader in 2009.

It is owned by NWN Media.
