Chesterton Community Sports College is a secondary school and specialist sports college in Newcastle Under Lyme attended by an estimated 850 students. Feeder schools include Chesterton Primary, Crackley Bank, and St. Chads.
In 2006 they introduced music and drama into the curriculum. The school also has a full-time music teacher and a full-time drama teacher. CCSC has recently gained their best GCSE Results yet. At the school there a number of physical education facilities including a pool, sports hall, dance studio and a fulsize astro pitch.
Lessons
All pupils have five lessons a day, which include: Maths, English, Science, PHSCE (which happens during form), PE, RE, Geography, Art, Technology, History, Music and IT. From Year 9 on students take their options, which include: GCSE Dance, GCSE ICT, History and many more.
Resources
The school has full use of the Library, Hall Stage and Sports Hall, and roughly 80 iMacs They also have use of technology rooms, a music room and a drama room. Students have their own personal iPads provided by the school from Year 9 onwards
