A software that is used in Post Production to composit scenes in a film and for adding Motion Graphics, special effects and color correction.

Types of Compositing Software

Layer-based

This software uses a Layer-based interface for compositing and visual effects. Examples of Layer-based Software are Adobe After Effects, HitFilm, Sony Vegas Pro, Apple Motion and the now discontinued Autodesk Combustion.

Node-based

This software uses a Node-based interface for compositing and visual effects. Examples of Node-based software are Autodesk Flame, Autodesk Toxik now sold as Maya Composite, Eyeon Fusion, NUKE, Blender, Natron and the now discontinued Apple Shake.
