Overview:


The overview will have a brief description of the garden and its location in Holland Park and in the city of London. The description will be brief but will have imagery and details that put the bright, colorful garden in the mind of the reader. It will describe the park as it stands today (Koi pond, peacocks, waterfall, etc.). It will give the garden's hours of operation as well as other amenities (cafe, etc.).

History: This will be begin with a brief history of Kyoto garden's in Japan and the significance they hold within the country. Flower's and gardens in particular have large cultural significance, especially in the form of gifts. Then, it will describe how the Kyoto Garden came to London (gift from Japan in 1991 for Japan Festival in London).


Significance: The park marks the long-lasting friendship and peace between Japan and Great Britain. Similarly, the Fukushima Memorial Garden was opened in 2012 as another gift to the people of Great Britain after their support following the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Gifts similar to these are really meaningful in Japanese culture, so this section will discuss more on that in this section. Finally, this section will talk about what Kyoto garden adds to Holland Park, which is a tangible uniqueness and serenity in a major city. It has become a major London tourist attraction, which was unforeseen originally.
