Animation has clearly begun

According to Variety [1], producer Christopher Miller has stated that "Nothing has been scrapped. The reels are coming along nicely." If reels are coming along nicely then animation is clearly under way, and this draft should be moved to mainspace. Rlendog (talk) 18:23, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

Miller did not specify what types of reels those are, and we know they have been working on some concept and visual art, per sources already in this article. To say final animation has begun (which is the requirement to move animated films, alongside voice recording per WP:NFF) would be WP:SYNTHESIS, and of course someone involved in a film would quell any concerns about it and give a positive statement about it. if Btsv releases in 2027, does that mean the sony and disney+ deal will not count that film to be part of the deal?

but with mcu spiderman 4 with tom holland in july 2026, maybe jeff sneider claimed the sources were true all along last month, and you didnt add in the updates of shamiek moore, brian tyree henry from the madame web interview and godzilla vs kong new empire interview in the production side of the wiki page at all i want the sony and disney+ deal to last longer if the theatrical sony releases in the usa are only from 2022-26 others say its 2022 onwards, beyond the spiderverse needs to be in that deal too its not fair to have the sony and disney+ and netflix deal end after 2026 70.48.81.250 (talk) 02:30, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

The film has no release date currently. Until a new date is actually given, we cannot assume what could happen with that streaming deal, as that would be WP:Original research. The studios could extend that deal, another third-party could get the rights, or something else entirely could happen. Truth is, we don't know until it gets a new release and the deal is clarified. In that interview, Henry only says "It's in the works, it's coming. That one...it's even more epic than the last...Get your hankies ready, it's going to go there. That does not directly confirm he is returning as his character. As for Moore, all he said was "Action...you can expect Miles and Gwen. You can expect everything. [Laughs] You're expecting the continuation from the second one. You can expect to see The Spot; you can expect some action-packed energy and some dilemmas and problems to solve." That is just ambiguous wording and also does not confirm his return definitively unless he actually said it in a video of the interview, ditto on Henry. I took another pass at sources and found this article where Moore specifically says "I'm in it" in correlation to this film. This brief mention was strangely absent from the other sources you linked, which just traced to the same Screen Rant interview whereas this source traces to a Variety video interview. Henry's comments did not explicitly confirm his involvement, so it can't be added as fact. Steinfeld has not mentioned her return and if she does, it will be added.
