Enpō (Japanese:延宝) was a Japanese era name (年号, nengō, lit. year name) after Kanbun and before Tenna. This period spanned the years from 1673 to 1681. The reigning emperor was Reigen-tennō (霊元天皇).

Change of Era

  • Enpō gannen (延宝元年) or Enpoō 1 (1673): The new era of Enpō (meaning "Prolonged Wealth") was created to mark a number of disasters including a great fire in Kyōto. The previous era ended and a new one commenced in Kanbun 14, on the ninth day of the 13th month.
