Erchie is an Italian village and hamlet (frazione) of the municipality of Maiori in the Province of Salerno, Campania. It is part of the Amalfi Coast and its population is 83.[1]

Geography

The village is located on the Tyrrhenian coast between Cetara (1,7 km in the east) and Maiori (8,5 km in the west). It is 12 km far from Salerno and 14 from Amalfi. The inhabited area lies at 4 amsl, under the Lattari Mountains, and is linked to the Amalfi Drive (SS 163), at circa 100 amsl, by its only carriageway. The middle of the village, crossed by the main road Via Marina, is traversed by a little torrent. In the eastern corner of the beach is located a coastal tower and, in the west, a cape named Capo d'Orso (i.e. Bear's Cape).

Tourism

As for the other places of the Amalfi Coast, Erchie is a receptive place for sea, archeological and landscape tourism. An easy way to spend a vacation in Erchie is to rent one of the many vacation home. Visit the external link below for a sample holiday homes offer. In the east of its central beach is situated a little one named "Caugo beach".[2]
