Evergreen High School was a secondary institution in the Highline School District located in unincorporated King County, Washington, United States, specifically White Center. The school served unincorporated areas, including White Center, between Seattle and Burien. The school's mascot was the wolverine. In 2007, its last year of existence, 22.4% of students passed the Washington Assessment of Student Learning, and 75.1% of students graduated.[1] The school has been replaced by three autonomous small schools located on what is now called the Evergreen Campus. They share certain campus facilities, including the cafeteria, gyms and library, and maintain the mascot since all three join together for sports as Evergreen Campus.

Small schools

Evergreen Campus currently consists of three small schools - Technology, Engineering & Communications School (TEC), Health Sciences and Human Services High School (HS3), and Arts and Academics Academy (AAA). These schools are part of a district-wide movement originally funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in an effort to increase student achievement levels.[2] HS3 was identified as a Bronze Medal School on the 2010 list of America's Best High Schools published by U.S News and Report.[3] Only two schools in South King County and only thirty schools in Washington received this recognition.

Athletics

Evergreen's sports teams are known as the Wolverines. Their colors are green and white.

Formerly members of the now defunct Seamount League,[4] Evergreen is a member of the Mountain Division of the 2A South Puget Sound League since the 2016-17 school year.[5]

From 1969-1982, the WIAA State Cross Country Championships were held at Evergreen High School.[6]
