  • curprev 20:1920:19, 22 February 2024152.130.15.128 talk 18,298 bytes +487 4 members of the crew were wounded during the sinking. Maschinenmaat Gerd Reusell lost his leg but able to get out of the sinking U-boat and was taken aboard the USCG Icarus with the other prisoners. He died on the USCG Icarus later that night. He was buried with full military honors at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina in Section 61B Site 18.
