Grimaze is a Groove/ Death metal band from Sofia, Bulgaria. The band consists of vocalist Pavel Krumov, guitarist Melina Krumova, bassist Anton Dimitrov and drummer Nedy Miladinov.[1]

History

The band was formed in January 2013. At first Grimaze was playing covers of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Pantera,[1] but soon in their original music they move on to a heavier sound and playing.[1]

In 2016 Grimaze has released their first two singles "Survival of The Fittest" [2][3] and "My Vow".[4] Later on in the year the band released their first self-titled EP - “GRIMAZE”.[5] The songs in the EP are as follows:

  • "Dreammares"

Currently the band is working on a full-length album which is due to be released later in 2016.[1]

Genre and lyrical themes

Grimaze's sound is not easily classified as it is a mixture of several different styles. Genres that have been associated with Grimaze are: technical death metal, groove metal, progressive metal and alternative metal.[1] Grimaze has been influenced by various artists such as Pantera, Gojira, Gorod, Decapitated, Black Sabbath and Meshuggah.[1]

Grimaze’s lyrics reflect on a deeper self-knowledge, improvement and purification.[1]
