Heat Wave 1996

Hardcore Heaven 1996 was an internet pay-per-view that took place on June 22, 1996 in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. The commentator for the event was Joey Styles.

The bout between Taz and mixed martial artist Paul Varelans was promoted as being a legitimate contest. The match has been described as "at least partly a shoot".[4]

The ring collapsed following the penultimate bout between Tommy Dreamer and Brian Lee, resulting in the main event being delayed by an hour until it could be repaired. During the interval, Kimona Wanalaya performed a striptease in the Eagle's Nest box to pacify the audience.[5][6] During the main event bout between Rob Van Dam and Sabu, one of the ring ropes snapped.
