The Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales (HHT) – now known as Sydney Living Museums – is a statutory authority within the Office of Environment and Heritage in the New South Wales Department of Planning and Environment in the Australian state of New South Wales.[1]

The Trust is entrusted with the care and maintenance of historic sites throughout the state, including gardens, parklands and urban spaces and its sites attract over two million visitors each year.[2]

History

The Trust was established under the Historic Houses Trust Act 1980 and originally charged with the running of Elizabeth Bay House and Vaucluse House. Since then, the trust has expanded to care for 14 sites in New South Wales. The Trust also looks after over 48,000 catalogued objects across all of the sites.[2]
