Template:Infobox Indian jurisdiction Kekri is a city and a municipality in Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Geography

Kekri is located at 25°58′N 75°09′E / 25.97°N 75.15°E / 25.97; 75.15[1]. It has an average elevation of 347 metres (1138 feet). Earlier this city was known as Kanakavati Nagri, named on the name of a princess Kanakavati, but now it is known as Kekri. It is mainly an industrial area having an Agricultural Mandi & some other industries. There are so many temples like Charbhuja Mandir, Kekradhish Mandir, Bijasan Mata Mandir etc. The main source of water supply is Bisalpur Dam. It is centrally situated among Rajasthan's major cities Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, Bhilwara & Tonk. There are many education institute also.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[2], Kekri had a population of 34,129. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kekri has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 51%. In Kekri, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
