This is a list of episodes for the Disney Channel original series Shake It Up, that premiered on November 7, 2010.[1] The series follows two best friends, CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue (portrayed by Bella Thorne and Zendaya) who land their dream job as back-up dancers on the television show, Shake It Up, Chicago. The show follows their adventures in the show and features problems and issues such as their new social status, tests their friendships and rivals on the show. Most episodes names end with "it up". The show was renewed for a second season on March 16, 2011. A movie was announced as well. The first season ended on August 21, 2011, and contained 21 episodes. The second season premiered on September 18, 2011, and ended on August 17, 2012, with 28 episodes aired. On June 4, 2012, Disney Channel announced that Shake It Up was renewed for a third season and it premiered on October 14, 2012.[2]

Best friends Rocky (Zendaya) and CeCe (Bella Thorne) audition for the dance show, Shake It Up, Chicago. Rocky and Cece do a spotlight dance and Rocky makes it in. Unfortunately, Cece gets stage fright and doesn't make it in. The following morning, Rocky stays in her PJ's and it is CeCe who convinces her to get changed and go on the show. On what is to be her first appearance on the show, Rocky decides she does not want to participate since CeCe did not make it as well. CeCe forces Rocky to show up anyway as it has been their lifelong dream to dance on Shake It Up, Chicago. CeCe accompanies Rocky to the studio and just when Rocky is about to go on she handcuffs herself to CeCe so they both have to dance during the filming of the show. Rocky and CeCe get their first paychecks and having their own debit cards. The nice man who gave them their cards promises to be friends with the girls and gives them loads of free things. Rocky and CeCe spend money on themselves instead of Deuce and Ty, so they treat them to The Olive Pit. At the restaurant CeCe and Rocky's cards are overdrawn, resulting them into eating The "Big Fat Heart Attack," spaghetti with a big meatball in order to let all of the orders be free. Meanwhile, Gunther and Tinka are babysitting Flynn and he tricks them into housekeeping and giving him half the pay. Georgia Jones isn't that angry as she loves coming home to clean dishes. At the end of the episode, Gary treats the Cast of Shake It Up, Chicago to a huge lunch from the Olive Pit. When Gary introduces Cece and Rocky to meatballs, they get sick. Rocky and CeCe decides to do a marathon in Shake It Up! Chicago so CeCe can get the Spotlight Dance and Rocky can donate money to a retirement home and also impress an elderly lady who hates her. CeCe gets energy drinks because the rules are to keep dancing on the floor without falling down. However Flynn (Davis Cleveland) drinks all of the energy drinks and becomes energetic and that Rocky and CeCe are too tired stopping Flynn. At the marathon, they nearly feel sleepy but thanks to Deuce, who gave them lightning pants, they win the marathon but end up sleeping at the end. When they win the spotlight dance, they fall asleep and Flynn dances, but then falls to the ground, asleep. CeCe finds herself in trouble when she learns that she is failing algebra class so Deuce finds her a tutor. When the tutor shows up at CeCe's house, CeCe, who was expecting a college boy, finds out that the tutor is a child genius in college named Henry (Buddy Handleson). Flynn then "breaks" CeCe's algebra tutor when Henry shares hair gel with Flynn and starts playing video games with him. When a fed-up Rocky offers her own tutoring services, Henry drops the bomb that CeCe is dyslexic. Meanwhile, Gunther convinces Ty to go on a date with Tinka (Caroline Sunshine) because Gunther (Kenton Duty) thinks Tinka feels lonely. Ty ends up enjoying their date. They dance and think about going out again. Gunther and Deuce bet on arm wrestling. They bet on Deuce's clothes, and when CeCe is cheered up by Rocky about not being embarrassed of her dyslexia, they ask Deuce why he's walking around in just a sleeveless shirt and in his boxers. After CeCe ruins Deuce's and Rocky's dates at the movie theater (though Rocky does not care), Deuce points out that CeCe and Rocky are too joined together like Gunther and Tinka. So, CeCe decides to be separated from her for a little while. After some desperate calls to some old friends, including her grandmother, CeCe runs into Rocky and sees that she has already made new friends at her karate class and CeCe is afraid she may lose her best friend. CeCe hangs out with Tinka who tells her that Gunther and her are individuals, just individuals together. Meanwhile, Flynn enlists his new friend, Henry, to join his karate class to help fend off bullies. When Rocky and CeCe get to dance with teen sensation Justin Starr, they go to his apartment and rehearse, but when Rocky and CeCe are expected to leave, Rocky wants to stay because she wants to take a picture with Justin Starr's hat. Unfortunately CeCe catches Justin making out with his manager. CeCe then tries sending the picture to her mom, thinking that she may have a solution to the problem, but she accidentally sends it to everyone on her contact list. Later, they go to apologize to Justin, but instead of being mad at them, he thanked them, revealing to them that he's not 16, but 24 years old and that his manager is his wife. Meanwhile, Ty tries to make Gunther more "hip", after being rejected by a popular cheerleader. When Rocky and CeCe finds out a dancer can't make it to Gary's party, they plan to take her place. The problem is that they have to sneak out to the party. When they get there though they find out that they aren't guests, but are there to serve the guests. Meanwhile, Ty and Deuce are left babysitting Flynn, but when CeCe's mom comes home, due to a scheduling mix up, they both try to hide, but CeCe's mom catches them trying to leave. CeCe's mom later finds out that the girls sneaked out, after forcing the boys to drink tons of water, and goes after them. The girls get caught and the next day CeCe's mom makes Rocky, Cece, Ty, Deuce, Flynn, and even Gary clean the house. Guest stars: R. Fearing that it could be CeCe and Rocky, he shows them the footage and the two set out to prove to Gary Wilde that they should get as much recognition as the dancers who have been on the show before. Ty pretended he's a billionaire to show Deuce that Savannah is only with him because of his money. When Deuce realizes that she starts to flirt with Ty, Savannah and Deuce break up and Deuce gets together with Dina. In order to earn money for a week-long dance camp, Rocky and CeCe decide to host their own dance camp for little kids in CeCe's apartment. Flynn crushes on Suzy, a girl at the camp. The camp turns out to be successful and Larry Diller, a famous lawyer, begs Rocky and CeCe to join the camp, even though it's for children. After Rocky tears the letter up in frustration, CeCe pieces it together and tells Rocky she also got into CFA. At Crusty's, Rocky parents are proud that she was accepted, but they can't afford Rocky to send her to the school, leaving Rocky devastated. CeCe helps Rocky qualify for a scholarship by lying to the dean of CFA, claiming that Rocky's father is a single parent, but their lie is exposed when Rocky's mother shows up. CeCe and Gunther are selected to be guest dancers on "Good Morning, Chicago", which makes CeCe feel uncomfortable that she wouldn't be dancing with Rocky. Rocky explains that there will be times when one of them will get something the other one doesn't and encourages her to perform. When CeCe and Gunther practice their dance routine, Rocky watches while Tinka teases Rocky about being jealous. After seeing how well their dance routine was, Gary informs CeCe and Gunther that they earned the Spotlight Dance of the week. Overhearing this, Tinka helps Rocky vent her jealousy and invites Rocky to join in her plan to get CeCe sick so she is not able to dance. However, Rocky turns it down. Later, Rocky admits she was jealous and helps CeCe with her hair for the performance. When the highlights in her hair turn green, CeCe accuses Rocky of purposefully doing it for revenge, when it was really Tinka who switched the highlight color. At "Good Morning, Chicago", Rocky delivers some balloons to CeCe and the two share a hug. When the girls' science teacher, Mr. Polk, pairs them up for a science project, Rocky is afraid partnering with CeCe will lower her grade. CeCe later finds out Rocky's working with someone else and is furious. Rocky tries to make it up to her by offering to do the whole project by herself and put CeCe's name on it, but CeCe would rather they do her project herself and is upset that Rocky underestimates her when it comes to school. The next day, Rocky still doesn't believe CeCe's project will work, but when both of their projects are tested, Rocky's doesn't work and CeCe's is successful. Rocky apologizes to CeCe and shows her that some discoveries happen by accident. When Gunther and Tinka refuse to pay Rocky and CeCe their money for performing at Klaus's party, the girls take their case to "Teen Court". Gunther and Tinka claim Rocky and CeCe didn't perform well and they ruined Klaus's party. Gunther and Tinka also claim that they ate all the cake and yelled at Klaus. However, Rocky and CeCe think Gunther and Tinka ruined the party because they were so harsh to Klaus. Rocky and CeCe also claim that Tinka smashed the cake in Klaus's face. As soon as Judge Marsha is about to close the case, Deuce comes running in with a surveillance video from Crusty's. The video shows that all of them ruined Klaus's party, after smacking his birthday cake out of his hand by an accident. Later, Gunther and Tinka pay back the money to Rocky and CeCe as they promised, but with a slight catch: this time, they pay them back with pennies. When Rocky is convinced that CeCe's dad is trying to "woo" CeCe's mom, she tries to plan their relationship relating to her book. CeCe doesn't believe it at first, but when she picks up her dad's coat, she finds a ring, leading both the girls to thinking he is going to propose to CeCe's mom. With the help of school librarian Miss Burke, they come up with a plan to go to the "Shake It Up, Chicago!" set and remake CeCe's parents's first date with a "Bollywood" theme. After the dance, the girls find out that CeCe's dad isn't proposing to her mom, but instead to her dad's girlfriend, who lives back in Florida. Later Rocky feels a little guilty for not knowing about Cece's Dad's girlfriend and apologizes to CeCe. Meanwhile, Ty and Deuce try to go on a double date at Crusty's, only to find out that Dina and Gina had a long lasting rivalry since they were both little. In Japan, at Watanabe Studios, a worker suggests that they should make a video game with a group from Shake It Up. Back in the US, every state's show competed and Shake It Up, Chicago wins. They fly on a private jet to Japan, but CeCe takes Rocky to a hypnotist, Shelly, so Rocky can get over her fear of flying. While Rocky is still hypnotized, CeCe suggests that Shelly makes Rocky a fun and better person, which CeCe has to rub Rocky's shoulder and tell her to "get on board, Rocky," which helps CeCe take advantage of her. Rocky, CeCe, Gunther, Tinka, Ty, Flynn, Gary, Georgia are all aboard the plane and Henry goes as well, which he brings his android, Andy. Ty also keeps in contact with Deuce through his tablet, in which Deuce acts like he is actually in Japan. As everyone arrives in Tokyo, Gunther and Tinka lose their luggage but buy new clothes. The four dancers go to the studios to be put in the game, and Mr. Watanabe's grandchildren make an app for the game before it's released because of Rocky's suggestion to disobey Mr. Watanabe's order to not make it. After he finds out, Rocky tries to talk to him, but she makes him feel like he's wrong and then he ends up cancelling the game. Gary makes Mr. Watanabe put the game project back on, but on the circumstance, Rocky and CeCe are fired from Shake It Up Chicago. Later, everyone is kicked out of the suite and has to find their way back home. Later, Rocky answers CeCe's phone when Shelly calls, finding that CeCe has been taking advantage of her and they end their friendship. Meanwhile, Tinka is being deported back to the old country after hitting a security guard accidentally, but Rocky and Cece convince the security guards to send Gunther and Tinka back to the US together. Afterwards, the app that the Watanabe grandchildren uploaded contained a virus that could go global and stop all computers, but Henry, who did not upload the app, attempts to fix it, but can't get past the firewall. They infiltrate Watanabe Global and hack the mainframe, but gets caught by Mr. Watanabe, and Andy gets damaged in the ventilation shaft. In the ending, Rocky and CeCe tries to get Mr. Watanabe to give them everything back and in the end, they perform 'Made in Japan'. At the very end, the ending credits come on with Deuce talking through the tablet, realizing that everyone left. Guest stars: Keone Young as Mr. Watanabe, R. Season 3 (2012/13)
On June 4, 2012, it was announced that Shake It Up had been renewed for a third season.[2] It was also announced that Kenton Duty will not be a regular cast member for season 3, but will make special guest appearances like Caroline Sunshine did in season 1.[66] All episodes premiered within a one month time frame on Disney Channel (UK & Ireland).
