Manacapuru (Munychapur) is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Its population was 92,996 (2014) and its area is 7,329 km².[1] The city is one of the biggest in the state. It is located about 80 km (50 mi) upstream (west) from Manaus, at the point where the Manacapuru River flows into the Amazon River (Solimões section).
