Marcus Beach is a suburb in Noosa, Queensland, Australia, located 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Noosa Heads.[2] It is within the local government area of Shire of Noosa (between 2008 and 2013 it was within Sunshine Coast Region).[2]

History

Some sources claim Marcus Beach was named after the property developer, Marcus Burke.[3] However, it is claimed by locals of the area that Marcus Beach was actually named after Henry Marcus (the great grandfather of Australian-based architect Sophia Marcus).
