Reception
Critical reception
Now running rated the film 2.5 out of 5 and also stated that "Ordinary stops short of rising above its title into something totally extraordinary, despite having a few good moments as it starts off. With an enterprising first half that fizzles out into a mediocre second half, this film could have turned out into something way above the ordinary with a tauter script. ".[9] Sify rated the film as 'Average' and went on to state that "At the end, Ordinary turns out to be a just-about-ordinary movie with its meek script, clichéd dialogues and leisurely pace. It’s a pity that the director didn’t use the resources well to make it into an extra-ordinary journey".[10] IndiaGlitz rated the film 3.25 out of 5 and said "All in all, 'Ordinary' is definitely a watchable flick for the families and the youth, for its freshness and simplicity in storytelling and treatment."[11]
The Times of India stated that the film had become an " extraordinary hit".[7]
