Pir Baba Village is a mountain village in the Buner District of the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan. Pir Baba Village is named after the great sufi saint "Hazrat Syed Ali Shah Termezi Gaus-e-Bunair alias Hazarat Pir Baba R.A." [Son of Hazarat Syed Qanbar Ali Termezi R.A.]". In the heart of Pir Baba valley lies the beautiful mausoleum of Hazarat Pir Baba R.A. where people from every corner come to pay their homage to the respected saint and ask for blessings. It has a green tomb as found in the mausoleums of many Muslim saints. The stream started by Hazarat Pir Baba R.A. is flowing with water till date and people are using it.Hazarat Pir Baba first went to [India] from [Termez -Afghanistan] for preaching of Islam along with his Respected Father Syed Qanbar Ali Shah who was in the Army of Babar , then he moved from Delhi to Punjab to Ajmer and then to Buner [Kohistan]on advise of his Pir-o-Murshed Hazarat Salaar Roomi and later after death of Hazarat Salaar Roomi at Ajmer by his son Sheik Hussain to preach Islam and wipe out the anti-Islam teaching propogated by the Roshaniya sect their. " Hazarat Pir Baba R.A. " was married to " Respected Maryam Khatak Bibi" . Under Hazarat Pir Baba R.A. guidiance his favourite disciple "Hazarat Akhund Darweza" took the special task of uprooting of the heretical anti-Islamic Roshaniya sect which flourished in Kohistan and the sourounding areas . Hazarat Pir Baba's descendants wielded great influence among the Pathan tribesmen, and three centuries later provided a rallying point against the Sikhs and the British during the Anglo-Afghan Wars.

The Wali (ruler) of Swat constructed a dispensary and homes for those suffering from leprosy near the Mausoleum.[1] A bazaar is adjacent to the mausoleum; most of its customers are tourists or pilgrims who come to visit the grave of Hazrat Pir Baba throughout the year.Most of the population is of Pashtun families, who are mostly Muslims, however some Hindus and Sikhs also live in the area.

Sadaats the descendants of Pir Baba are said to have moved to Buner, Swat, Dir, Bajaur , Chitral, Mardan, Swabi.

Languages

Pushto is the local language. A high percentage of people know Urdu and small a percentage of people can speak English

Chilla

It is a cave in the near by mountain where Hazrat Pir Baba R.A. used to retire and pray. The mud inside the Chilla is soft like silk even today

Mountains

Pir Baba Village is surrounded by huge mountains. Two of the high mountains are mountains are Elum Ghar and Dua Suray Ghar (Two Headed Mountain).

Tourist Spots

The main places for tourists are the Mausoleum of Hazarat Pir Baba R.A. , Chilla, the Bazar of Pir Baba, Qadir Nagar and Peryano Dand.

You can come here from both Mardan and Swat sides of NWFP, but the route from Mardan side is suitable for those who are of time shortage.
