Premise
There’s a new team of secret heroes in town and they’re the least likely of champions – toys! Brought to life by a hopeful child, these little problem solvers bring all the fun of Mission Impossible as they follow the mission plans of their creator. Now, a little boy and his toys can change the world – and for his friends.[3]
Characters
Main
- Axel (voiced by Kieran Walton)[4] - Andrew's nephew. After discovering the power bands, he gained the ability to transform into an action figure.
- Masko (voiced by Carlos Salazar)[4] - A toy luchador whose arms, legs and head stretch and who wears various masks based on his emotions.
- Sarge Charge (voiced by Greg Chun)[4] - A tough, grizzled war veteran toy and team strategist, who is an expert in toy weapons.

- Bobby Blobby (voiced by Reba Buhr)[4] - A tiny doll-like toy who pilots a purple mech battle suit that fires colored clay.
- Galileo (voiced by Todd Haberkorn)[4] - A lizard-like toy that has never been released in the show’s toy universe.

Development and production
The show was originally greenlit in 2016 under the working title Power Toys before being renamed Power Players in the final version of the series.[7]
On February 11, 2019, the series was officially picked up by Cartoon Network, making it the first Zagtoon production to be made and produced for this channel, and Playmates became the master toy licensee for the series.[8][9] Power Players will premiere on Cartoon Network UK on February 3, 2020.[10]
