Schilpario is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) northeast of Milan and about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northeast of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,294 and an area of 63.8 square kilometres (24.6 sq mi).[3]

The municipality of Schilpario contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Ronco, Barzesto, and Pradella.

Schilpario borders the following municipalities: Azzone, Borno, Cerveno, Lozio, Ossimo, Paisco Loveno, Teglio, Vilminore di Scalve.

Schilaprio is named as a popular mountain tourist destination during summer and suring winter. Schilaprio hosts alpine ski and cross-country ski facilities
