Shlomit Malka-Levi[4] (Hebrew: שלומית מלכה-לוי; sometimes called Shiloh Malka; born December 23, 1993) is an Israeli fashion model from Tel Aviv.
She has appeared in major international campaigns for L'Oreal, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Maybelline, Lancome, Chanel, Schwarzkopf, Bershka, Bebe, and Müller Yogurt.[5] In 2013, she broke into the ten highest earning models in Israel.[6]
In 2015, she became the face of Italian lingerie company Intimissimi, heading its international advertising campaigns, succeeding the likes of Irina Shayk, Barbara Palvin, Bar Refaeli and Ana Beatriz Barros. Her contract as the lead model for Intimissimi was renewed in 2016 and in 2017.
Life and career
Malka was born in Tel Aviv,[7] Israel to Israeli parents. Her father is of Moroccan Jewish heritage and her mother is of Ukrainian Jewish heritage.[8] Her father was a lawyer and her mother was a PR manager and advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel.[9][10] As a child, she dreamed of becoming a soldier and a veterinarian.[10]
During Malka's first year as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, where she served as an instructor in the Combat Engineering Corps special forces unit Yahalom, Malka was discovered by a model agent from her Facebook pictures.[11] She managed to win permission to work during her military service[12] and promptly won contracts with Armani, Ralph Lauren, L'Oreal and Schwarzkopf.[11]
During her military service, the IDF permitted her to take part in modeling shoots after pre-approving her requests so long as she made up the time afterwards.[13] She says that the "balance between the military and modelling makes me feel good. I am grounded all the time".[14] Her personal interests are physics, mathematics, and animal welfare.[11][14]
In 2013, she was chosen as one of Israel breakout models of the year, alongside other Israeli models such as Tanya Pylavets.[15]
In 2015, she became the face of Italian lingerie company Intimissimi, leading its worldwide campaign, a position previously filled by Irina Shayk, Barbara Palvin, Bar Refaeli and Ana Beatriz Barros.[16] Intimissimi was drawn to her natural beauty.[12]
In addition she won contracts for Maybelline New York, Chanel, Armani, and appeared on the covers of magazines such as Vogue Italy, Glamour and Elle.
On 25.5.2017 she married Israeli actor Yuda Levi.
2017 Accident
On the 13th of August 2017, Shlomit Malka had a scooter accident. Passers-by said they found her lying on the ground, unconscious and having suffered a head injury. She has been transported to Ichilov Hospital, where she has been placed in a medically-induced coma. She had been in critical condition, unable to breathe on her own. A paramedic had called her condition 'unstable.'"[17] She subsequently recovered.
Personal life
In 2017, she married her long-term boyfriend Yehuda Levi.
