I removed this link ([http://www.digitalcentury.com/encyclo/update/noyce.html Biography]) because it just took me to the top page of the site. Trying to get to the biography of Noyce sent me to a login page. So, I figured this was too much work for 'pedia users and removed it. IIRC, we don't encourage links to sites that require memberships or logins. —[[User:Frecklefoot|Frecklefoot]] 19:04, 1 Aug 2003 (UTC)

e sent me to a login page. So, I figured this was too much work for 'pedia users and removed it. IIRC, we don't encourage links to sites that require memberships or logins. —Frecklefoot 19:04, 1 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Possible Plagiarism

Some of this content appears to be plagiarized. For example, "Gale got hold of two of the very first transistors ever to come out of Bell Labs. Gale showed them off to his class and Noyce was hooked." is from http://www.pbs.org/transistor/album1/addlbios/noyce.html and used without quotes etc. The way the content reads it is pretty clear that this is not wikipedia original content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Multinomial (talkcontribs) 03:48, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information

I don't want to change the information on the page, and I'm unsure as to how to link information, but I think it would be interesting to add that Noyce graduated from Grinnell High School. While a student at Grinnell College, he was involved in the theft and slaughter of a pig from a nearby farmer for a party. When he was discovered, one of the physics professors convinced the school not to expel him, and Noyce was only suspended.

I'm not sure what you mean about "link information." Do you have a URL to this information? If so, you can put it in the External links section like this:
* [http://www.supercoolwebsite.com/noycebeingbad.html Article on Noyce's high school exploits]
and it will show up like this:
If you just have information, just add it. If it needs some work, someone will come along and polish it up. If you have a reference for the info, add it too. HTH
Also, next time, sign your posts. You can do this with 3 or 4 tildes (~~~ or ~~~~). Most people prefer the latter version because it also slaps in a timestamp. :-) Frecklefoot | Talk 14:47, Jul 22, 2004 (UTC)

I actually went to him for a report we're doing. At first I've never even hear of him! I wonder that if he invented something so important, why isn't he famous. I just heard that he co-invented this. I think we need more info about him. This doesn't have a lot of information about him in it. I actually found some articles about him in the Encyclopedia of World Biography.

favor?

The article now reads, "He later returned the favor by allowing the college to invest in Intel at an early stage." Is investment a favor? I think this is revisionist. Any citation? Pdbailey 23:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notes and References

There are 8 different references for his place of birth. 3 of them are from the same book. I think this is unnecessary and makes the article hard to read. I'm not sure how the "refgroup" format works, so I didn't change it, but I hope a more experienced editor will. There is a similar problem in the education section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peboki (talkcontribs) 05:57, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the external link:

  • Noyce biography on elahmad.com

Reason: Its a Wikipedia mirror, not an independent biography, thus it merely duplicates everything here. Therefore it adds nothing to the article. --155.245.103.78 (talk) 10:06, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
