Lede problems
[edit]Shouldn't the text in the lede be changed to reflect the fact that the JTWC and PAGASA did not exist in 1939? Removing this would leave it fairly empty, and I'm not sure what it should be replaced with. Aside from that, this seems to be pretty close to B-class. --Coredesat 06:22, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops, that was stupid. OK, I added the correct details. Hurricanehink (talk) 15:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Looks better now, I've upped it to B-class unless there are any other concerns. --Coredesat 18:39, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

GA Sweeps Review: Pass
[edit]As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I'm specifically going over all of the "Meteorology and atmospheric sciences" articles. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. I have made several minor corrections throughout the article. Altogether the article is well-written and is still in great shape after its passing in 2007. Continue to improve the article making sure all new information is properly sourced and neutral. It would also be beneficial to go through the article and update all of the access dates of the inline citations and fix any dead links. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. Happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:51, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Season summary needed
[edit]We need a season summary article to keep it in line with the other tropical cyclone season articles, especially the 1982 Pacific typhoon season article which has reached GA. Thegreatdr (talk) 17:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it's needed. We agreed on either 1851 or 1852 AHS talk page that season summaries weren't really needed, if there wasn't much information for the season. However, I did add a bit of summarization to the lede. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:45, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Typhoon Four and 21, track data vs description..
[edit]1. From the track map of Typhoon 21, I can't see how it affect Taiwan...?
2. Typhoon Four first observed as depression to the east of Okinawa, then how can the track map start from a more southern position and how can it affect the Philippines? C933103 (talk) 09:32, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- I wonder are the storm track maps are matched up to the sections? I believe @Supportstorm: may have taken the data for the track maps from a different place then the original authors of this article.Jason Rees (talk) 22:58, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
- The data I used came from IBTrACS data set td9636. So, no, it's not the same author that most of the article is written in, however is a (generally) close match. If you need more information on this data set and sources used you can read the description pdf file that came with it here. Supportstorm (talk) 11:13, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
