this is just as a reminder to cover these upcoming things: 1. the possible sale of the canwest b'casting assets in New Zealand 2. Section 59 3. Theresa Gattung (sp?)'s last day on the job

since I don't want to put them up as forecast events, since they're just speculative output or political process. but, sooner or later. Kripto 20:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • more notes: 1. when the NZD climbs off its high, put the date it reached the highest point down. 2. On the 2007 page, it says that on Sep 26, NZ will celebrate 100 years of independence. This is a misnomer, I think, because we didn't validte the Statute of Westminster until 1947. But, is it an observance, or should it be in the main body of the article? I don't like including anniversaries, but this one seems something to include. 3. when parliament passes the sedition repeal legislation, include that. Kripto 02:13, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2007 in nz tv

[edit]

this article doesn't need to exist. I guarantee that anything that happens on or to TV in New Zealand that warrants mention here will warrant mention somewhere on 2007 in New Zealand. Kripto 01:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you perhaps mean to put this notice on 2007 in New Zealand television instead? There are already some other "year in NZ television" pages, and I think that as the "year in NZ" pages mature they will get quite large, with some material too trivial for the main page and better on specialist year in subject page. e.g. Television awards (when held). (And yes, the music awards tables should probably move eventually too). dramatic 08:42, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

that's fair. If there turns out to be a lot going on in New Zealand, then we can always make a page that needs to exist, and if it turns out that television in New Zealand doesn't give us enough to get excited about, then we don't need to worry about creating content with nothing in it. I just think we're generating a lot of templates with one line in it, and that devalues what we're saying. Kripto 09:12, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

October 31 - Cabinet reshuffle

[edit]

I'm not sure the October 31 cabinet reshuffle entry will last the test of time. Today I thought the news really overstated its importance (and this coming from a politics geek!) and I doubt this will be of any consequence in, say, a year's time. kabl00ey 09:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, at least the wording could be toned down a little. - SimonLyall 11:23, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ruatoki raids

[edit]

The police raids on the township of Ruatoki for alleged terrorism in te Urewera National Park was a significant event during 2007. I suggest it be added to the October list sugnaguy talk 20:17, 24 March 2008

I'm not sure whether this would qualify for inclusion, so raising it here. Nia Glassie died 3 August 2007 - fairly significant event, but significant enough for inclusion? While I'm mentioning it, the article is an orphan - it could do with links from other articles if anyone can think of any relevant ones. TFOWR 22:25, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest it be added under events, rather than under deaths, since she was not a notable figure. I note that Chris and Cru Kahui get two mentions in 2006 in New Zealand. I've linked to Glassie from Crime in New Zealand.
Wainuiomata Mākutu Lifting could also be added here.-gadfium 00:47, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
