Walter Camp and the South

Walter Camp rarely traveled outside of the East to see Western football let alone Southern football. Therefore, the "eastern bias" of his All-America selections is a feature of the early history of the sport, and those from outside the east to make his team were held in high regard. At first, third-team Camp All-America was the best for a southerner to hope for. I've it on solid ground that W. E. Metzger was the third southern player ever to make one of Camp's three teams. Owsley Manier definitely did it before him. Therefore I am left with one more. I am convinced, though I cannot prove it, that this refers to Douglas at Navy. Captain Archibald H. Douglas, USN (1895-1978) is not Archibald Hugh "Toots" "Tootsie" Douglas (1885–1972)

Hi there. I did see you post this, but did not see where the problem was other than a potential one. Which source doesn't apply to Tootsie? If it's the first one, how come it says he died in 1972, suggesting by your own title that it's Tootsie? It also says he was an All-Southern halfback for UT.
