Hi there,

Unsure of where you found a COI - would love to hear how best to fix.

Sedelstone, If you don't ping the person who put up the notices, you're not going to get a reply. Large chunks of the article content read as though they were written by AWAL's marketing department, and as it seems there's no declared COI editor in the page history that I can find, that makes the undisclosed tag appropriate. In fact, I see more than a few editors in the page history that bear hallmarks of undisclosed COI editing. Additionally, as large sections of the content appear promotional, the advert tag is apppropriate (such as "AWAL is a service-based company and offers independent artists and labels complete ownership of their master recording rights. In November 2018, Billboard wrote an article titled, "Can Kobalt Disrupt the Label Game With AWAL?," outlining the company's approach and how it pays out as much as 80 percent of streaming revenue to its artists.").
As an example of what I mean as written by a marketing department, marketing copy often uses "which include[s]..." and then gives an exhaustive list of services/products/whatever. Such as "The company offers a range of services, which include services include digital distribution, global marketing, release management, funding, playlist promotion, data analytics, radio, A&R, synch licensing, and YouTube monetization." Neutral editors do not write such copy. This happens several places in the article. Peacock cleaned up some of the advert-oriented content, such as "offering friendly deal structures", but there's a long way to go before the advert tag, or the undisclosed tag can be removed. Sedelstone, also, if you're affiliated with AWAL, you need to disclose it now. Waggie (talk) 01:33, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I edited advertising language out of this article, and made it more suitable for Wikipedia usage. MultiMrWeb (talk) 19:58, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Page subcategories

[edit]

I have created two categories relating to this page, Category:AWAL albums and Category:AWAL artists. It is quite a lengthy task adding these to all the relevant articles, so any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you. Sean Stephens (talk) 07:40, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
