Untitled[edit]

"In late 2005 Aaron Jefrey became estranged from his wife Melinda.They divorced soon after. Jeffrey is currently dating his Mcleods co-star Michelle Langstone." Is this a fact or just a gossip. I have never heard this before and I looked it op on the internet but couldn't find something that confirmed it Jacobine18:00, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date[edit]

A reliable source is needed for his birth date, please. An edit summary which claims to have "Correct information directly from family members" is insufficient. Meticulo (talk) 04:11, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

IMDb content is user-generated, so probably not reliable enough as a source for dates of birth (at least, that's my reading of WP:IMDB/BLP, "IMDb content inappropriate to reference on Wikipedia: Any potentially contentious material about living persons", in conjunction with WP:DOB, "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources. While IMDb on its own may not be sufficient, the official website is linking to IMDb, so it's very unlikely that any wrong information would be accepted by the actor himself or the management. It should be considered to work with both websites as a reference in this particular case. I tried to add the link to the website, but the software won't let me. linktr ee .... --Pawel W. Any additional source and reference is of course positive, however, I was specifically trying to solve the date of birth issue. I'm fine with you saying that page isn't good enough, but right now we still didn't get the date. Do you maybe have a better idea?

I don't think we shouldn't be adding a date of birth at all, unless it's possible to satisfy the requirements at WP:DOB, particularly, "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public". I'm not sure it's reasonable to infer that his agents regularly and thoroughly check his IMDb page, as you suggest above. It could verge on being a "synthesis of published material", which is against the policy on original research. Of course, I might be wrong about this. If you feel strongly enough, you could try seeking the opinion of others. There's several ways of doing this. I'd suggest posting a query at WT:FILMBIO first off.
