Re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbey_Fleck

Hello Dr. Frog

1. What's wrong with the categories I selected? 2. How is it that Dr. Frog is the one who decides the categories that I selected are inappropriate?

Please explain

  • The article for this person describes her as an American inventor, so that is clearly the primary category where the article should be listed. The other categories where this page was listed are either overly-general or only tangentially related. For instance, Category:Food and drink has an explicit catdiffuse tag discouraging articles from being put into that category directly. Category:Innovation is for articles about the process of innovation, and contains no other pages about individual inventors. Similarly, Category:Cooking is for articles about the art and profession of cooking, not about inventors of cooking devices. Abbey Fleck is also not a breakfast, a bacon, or a breakfast food. She has little or nothing to do with American culinary traditions. Category:American innovations does not even exist. In general, I suggest looking at whether the categories you try to add an article to already contain similar articles, and how existing articles about similar subjects are categorized. For example, consider Thomas Edison, a very well-known inventor. His bio page is *not* listed under Category:Incandescent_light_bulbs, Category:Audio players, Category:Electricity, or any other category either specifically about or related to his inventions.
