[edit]The link on this page links to the original version of the film, so I changed it to reflect the Abel Ferrara version.
"Fear City" did indeed have a theatrical release in a number of countries, so I removed the statement that it was released direct-to-video. Sources: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087247/ and http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvfearcity.phpEinar-weiss-bescheid (talk) 15:15, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
The style...
[edit]Some guy wrote, "The style combines the John Cassavetes-inspired realism which has always separated Ferrara from other "crime" directors like Martin Scorsese, with an aggressive and disorienting style of shooting and editing, comparable perhaps to Robert Altman, or some Oliver Stone films, such as Natural Born Killers and Any Given Sunday."
What??? Martin Scorsese made Cassavetes type films before the debut of Ferrara, Who's That Knocking... and Mean Streets, has been known for an "aggressive" filming style and isn't concerned at all with simply making "crime" films or Cassavetes-esque films...so what's with the snooty, and ill informed, implication? Ridiculous. JonasEB (talk) 10:05, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Article Quality
[edit]I hope that someone with a better-than-8th-grade education will adopt this article and repair the language. After that, I'd like to see somebody with a little knowledge of film have a go at making this the bio of a significant director with a fascinating body of work. As for "Low Importance", anyone old enough to remember the impact created by Bad Lieutenant can put the lie to THAT.
Collaborators
[edit]Is two films really enough to qualify people as 'frequent collaborators?' Nine people on the list only have two projects.OckRaz talk 21:33, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
