Solitude -> Isolator
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page, per the discussion below; content discussion is a separate matter, although it appears that there is support for merging the contents here to Reki Kawahara. Dekimasuよ! 23:20, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Absolute Solitude → Absolute Isolator – "Absolute Solitude" was the name of the Web Novel series. For publication, the word Solitude (孤独, Kodoku) was replaced with Isolator (孤独者, Kodoku-sha), using katakana furigana on the cover of the novel, アイソテイタ. Aditionally, the cover states says "The Isolator: realization of absolute solitude". For this, the page should be renamed to Absolute Isolator, with Absolute Solitude redirecting to it. Comment: This page shouldn't exist since it was created too soon, and instead be redirected to Reki Kawahara because notability is not inherited. Additionally, official English titles are used where ever possible, in this case, Yen Press calls it "Absolute Solitude" so the title is fine. —KirtZMessage 21:52, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- I agree the page shouldn't exist, now that you bring that up. However, Yen Press mentioned Absolute Solitude in only one announcement, where they also claimed that the book would be released "in the near future" in Japanese. But the book had already been out a week before the announcement. So I assume that announcement was written up before the name change. But that's not relevant, and I suppose we'll have to see if Yen Press changes the name accordingly, when they finally announce a date for it. But if this page shouldn't exist to begin with, how do we go about redirecting it then? Ragef33 (talk) 22:04, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- If there is consensus here to redirect, we can just do it ourselves, and recreate the article when it has established notability in its own right.--十八 22:28, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- Merge - really does not look notable. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:31, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- Merge - (Or redirect) per my comments above. —KirtZMessage 03:33, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
- Merge with the author's page for now until it can establish independent notability.--十八 20:18, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect per above. Feel free to create a redirect Absolute Isolator --> Reki Kawahara. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:40, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I'd think the amount of coverage in Japanese should be enough to confer notability; it's been serialised in print for some months now. —innotata 22:03, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- The fact that it was merely published does not satisfy any of the criteria at WP:BK.--十八 23:04, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- It's been serialised online for longer. Anyway, I was just saying that is why there seems to be quite enough coverage in Japanese. —innotata 22:44, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
