El Aquiles
[edit]"strengthened by the indication that the role of Achilles should be played by a woman"
This is hard to swallow. It contradicts so much of the action of the play. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 23:00, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- I got this from here, and it is supported by sources like this and this one. Fram (talk) 07:05, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Rape
[edit]Going back to the Latin, the root meaning of the noun raptus is "carrying off, robbing, plundering", and "esp. of persons, an abduction, rape". (Lewis and Short, p. 1524). Similarly the first meaning of the verb verb rapio, pui, ptum is "to seize and carry off, to snatch, tear, drag, draw, or hurry away", and "in partic. to carry off by force; to seize, rob, ravish; to take by assault... (p. 1523). Awien (talk) 11:52, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
