Interview with family member

In copyediting this article I see a footnote citing an interview with a "family member" who is not named or dated etc. Should the quote and citation be removed since the content can't be verified? Or, is there another verifiable reference that can be substituted? How should this be handled? Rosalina523 (talk) 14:44, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good question and looking at the history of the article strongly suggests that I was the editor who included that right at the beginning of the article. At that time I was trying the track down various sculptors that I could or, failing that, track down their families, mostly for another project I was working on. it seems some of that stuff leaked into wikipedia. . I do not remember this exact exchange but will go searching through my back mail (much of which no longer exists due to various computer crashes) and see what I can find. Here is part of the exchange between Wolter's grandson, who was looking through his files of clippings etc., and me

Here's something interesting...he taught at the Indiana College of Mortuary Science as a professor of "restorative art" apparently using his understanding of anatomy to help morticians repair the faces of those who had been in accidents and whatnot.
