A fact from Age of Consent Act, 1891 appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 17 October 2008, and was viewed approximately 7,456 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that a brutal rape of a Bengali child by her 35-year-old husband served as a catalyst for increasing the age of consummation to 12 in British India?
The correct short title of the act seems to be "Age of Consent Act, 1891" (See some of the citations on the page.) Having the year of enactment after the name of the act also mostly seems to be the Wikipedia precedent for British India related legislation (see Category:Legislation in British India).
