There seems to be a separate "Aganice", see: http://www.astr.ua.edu/4000WS/AGANICE.html

Unless you have better information which shows they're the same, I'd suggest renaming the redirect "Aganice of Thessaly" or similar. Espresso Addict 19:23, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • That website is really bad - I have found numerous errors on it, I checked this article from the listed print source and this is the most common name.--Peta 00:00, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have found a few mentions of Aganice of Egypt, but they tend to describe her as a legend. Some websources give the same date for the greek and the supposedly egyptian person. Unless we can find something concrete, its probably best to stick with the greek person since she is the only one I have been able to find concrete information about.--Peta 00:57, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could the article be improved with information on a page that belongs to the University of Alabama?

Could the information on the above linked page be useful for improving this article? The link above is apparently from the University of Alabama's Astronomy Department. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WebOne (talkcontribs) 22:23, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

A well-meaning editor placed the page at Aglaonike, presumably because that's closer to the Greek pronunciation. It's completely correct to romanize the Greek text, but the article belongs at the WP:ENGLISH WP:COMMONNAME, which is Aglaonice, as seen here and here, here, and here. (Some of the Aglaonice hits are about the lunar region but since that's an important feature named for this person, it falls under the rubrik here.) — LlywelynII 03:43, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

The image does clearly not depict Aglaonike/Aganike. The quality of the picture is bad (but a bit less in this bigger resolution version https://s3.amazonaws.com/suite101.com.prod/article_images/large/3e6e63f2-d09a-42d5-b17f-657d27cf3b7e.jpg) but the line of the text above the seated picture reads something like ΘΑΛ(Ι?)ΕΑ. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.15.2.99 (talk) 18:51, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
