Removing problem tags
[edit]I have been asked by the outreach colleagues from Buonanno's institute (which is also the institute where I completed my own PhD, and worked in outreach for some years) what they can do to remove the various warning tags currently attached to the article.
From my own experience with Wikipedia, I think the article is now in good shape. All the biographical information has appropriate references (I have added three newspaper articles from the German version, as additional documentation).
Notability seems to be clear, via several criteria in WP:PROF: Her work had significant impact, namely it was a key theoretical component of the first ever detection of gravitational waves (as attested by the explanation given in the Leibniz prize citation [1]); she received Germany's highest scientific award, namely the Leibniz prize; she was named a fellow of a major scholarly society, namely the American Physical Society, which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor; holding a Max Planck Directorship is one German equivalent of a named chair or distinguished professorship, namely a whole cut above "ordinary" professors.
Taking all this together, and convinced that the article revisions have addressed the problems that were flagged in March 2018, I am now removing the tags. Markus Pössel (talk) 11:47, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
