Isn't russia mostly in asia? "non-asian"? Why do people seem to think squinty, stretched eyes make people asian. Perhaps western/eastern would be a better expression to use? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.236.174 (talk) 20:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This has nothing to do with squinty stretchy eyes. It is notable for any player not from the traditional three Go countries (China, Japan, Korea) to reach professional status. Even if such a player were from India, or Indonesia, or Vietnam, it would still be considered an exceptional occurrence, but such players would certainly not be 'western'.
