Merge tag[edit]
Why exactly does this version get its own article? As song articles are about songs, why is Madonna's version handled differently than every other cover version in Wikipedia, which are all combined? I see very little discussion about this on the main Talk:American Pie page (or its Archive), other than someone mentioning that American Pie is "too long", which clearly is not the case. There didn't see to be a consensus about separating them so I'd like to open up the discussion again.... in my opinion it looks as if a small handful Madonna fans wanted her version on its own page, which quite frankly is not a good enough reason for it to be separate. - eo (talk) 03:18, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, it should be merged. All cover versions should be included with the same article as the original. anemone
