"International Mediterranean Award for best female opera star 2019"

[edit]

This whole part had to be rewritten. There are no reliable (independent) sources going into detail about what kind of award this is exactly and which artistic value it has. The Mediterranean Awards are an annual ceremony arranged by the Fondazione Mediterraneo, an italian organization founded by Naples-based Photographer, gallery-owner and architect Michele Capasso[1], promoting dialogue and peace between nations on various levels. There aren't known any references to specialized institutions of classical singing or opera in particular that would qualify for giving a profound assessment in an international context on this subject. Furthermore, there aren`t any reports or mentions about an award given to Amira Willighagen to be found on the organization's Homepage.[2] The passage as it was on the site before wasn't legitimate, since it violated wiki-standards giving no verifyable source to proove the statements correct. I now referred to Amiras Facebook as the original source (and no other one available that wouldn't cite from that). --Art und wIEse (talk) 13:47, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The whole article is somewhat redundant and blown up by details not really worth knowing to anyone just wanting to get an idea of who this girl is. But that's exactly what Wikipedia is about - providing people with knowledge that is essential, not about doing full detail biographies. It's obvious that this entry was written by managers or fans that aren't so much into facts but into promotion.--Art und wIEse (talk) 13:56, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Could be that detailed biographies are of much interest to some substantial part of some commmunities, even while many people believe they are little interest to most, no? By which principle or standard should "essential" be judged or decided? Mieliestronk (talk) 18:57, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion Over Amira Willighagen's Singing Genre

[edit]

Amira has been described in this article as being a "classical crossover" singer, a "singer of classical music", etc, the latter being rather laughable as classical music almost always has no lyrics; it is both safer and more accurate to describe her as what she is....a soprano. This remains accurate whatever she sings. 142.161.205.172 (talk) 02:19, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Discography References

[edit]

In the discography section, I would think that "NET" refers to The Netherlands and "BEL" perhaps to Belgium.K4vws (talk) 08:55, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever has happened to Amira Willighagen since 2015?
