Dates of Birth & Death

[edit]

An anonymous Wikipedian recently added dates of birth and death for Sani (16 August 1925 - 15 August 2000).

I assume this anonymous user found these dates on a searchable Social Security death index (such as that located at RootsWeb.com).

However . . . I do not believe we have sufficient evidence to actually know for certain that the "Amru V. Sani" listed in the Social Security Death Index is indeed the same Amru Sani about whom this article is written: I would not be surprised if it were the same person, but we simply don't know. (I myself found these dates previously on RootsWeb.com, but chose not to use them for the above reason.)

For this reason, I have removed the birth and death dates, and until more evidence can be offered I believe we should leave Sani's vital statistics unlisted.

If the anonymous user in question has additional evidence confirming that Amru Sani (the musician about whom this article is written) was indeed born and did indeed die on the dates in question, please let us know this additional evidence.

In the meantime, I have already sent out queries to various sources to try to obtain reliable information about Sani's date of birth and possible date of death.

Thanks,
