Merge proposal

The article begins by focussing on the species, but then provides what reads like a general description of Christmas beetles. For this reason I suggest merge or rewrite to pertain tot he specific. Heds (talk) 02:24, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks to me like the author is merely being a little careless. It is stated (elsewhere) that "Christmas beetle" most commonly refers to this species alone, so all the text here about "Christmas beetles" may well be species-specific. --Stemonitis (talk) 06:42, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
