Initial description
[edit]In the Lamina affixa article, there is a side picture where 16 - Tuberculum anterius thalami is indicated, in the region where the anterior nuclei of the thalamus is located. Unable to find any article under Tuberculum anterius thalami or several other similar expressions, not even in disambiguation pages, I wonder if tuberculum anterius thalami is an alternate or deprecated name for anterior nuclei thalami. Can anyone please verify this, and if so, add an '(or tuberculum anterius thalami)' to the initial description of the anterior nuclei of the thalamus, or otherwise create a new article or description where appropriate? - Apparently it's the prominence caused by the presence of the anterior nuclei. I'm linking it to the anterior nuclei, I can hardly see a difference. --Tilifa Ocaufa (talk) 02:30, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
References
[edit]Could someone please put references to the section of Function, especially about the role of the nuclei in the modulation of alertness? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.233.245.109 (talk • contribs) 09:12, 17 December 2009
- I realise this comment is from almost five years ago and it's unlikely the user still requires this information but I've added a reference to the section on Function. I'll look for further information to add references to this article and to expand it a little. --Adam Black (talk) 07:56, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Totally inscrutable sentence about input to anterior nuclei
[edit]Can anyone guess what this last sentence of the second paragraph of the "inputs and outputs" section means?
- "However, although the hypothalamus projects to both the mammillary bodies and the anterior nuclei of the thalamus, the anterior nuclei receive input from hippocampal cells deep to the pyramidal cells projecting to the mammillary bodies."
From the word "deep" onwards, I can't guess what the intended meaning is. Alan U. Kennington (talk) 07:44, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
