Relevance of second paragraph in lede[edit]

I am dubious as to the relevance of the second paragraph of the lede to this article. The paragraph is as follows:

In April 2017, an extremist drove up to a parked police van and opened fire on three police officers. The attack took place along the Champs-Elysees, between the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile. One officer died and the other two were injured. The attacker ( a French citizen ) was shot dead by other officers at the scene. [2]

Perhaps just move it to it's history? Do other significant places and monuments mention terror attacks that occur near them on their pages? The Louvre page doesn't mention the recent machete terror attack. Ardener (talk) 10:45, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
