Trivia?

[edit]

There's a bar/pub/Karaoke place in Okinawa named Windie, using Arcanine's image on a sign. Just thought it if would be something worth putting up. XenoL-Type 22:54PM February 14, 2006

I will add it. But first I need some sources. TheBlazikenMaster 22:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why the hell is it part of the Cat WikiProject

[edit]

It seems silly to me. I've watched animé, never seen it meow. Furthermore I haven't seen it act at all like a cat. I've seen it act like a dog, but cat, no. This is ridicious. Why the hell is it part of that WikiProject? It makes no sense to me. TheBlazikenMaster 22:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because of the tiger-like stripes and lion-like mane. However, I agree that the Cats Wikiproject banner should be removed, as Arcanine still looks predominantly canine. Andros 1337 16:19, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Um, not to mention the fact that proclaiming the article part of the Cat Wikiproject is essentially stating that Arcanine is, or has some properties of, a cat, which qualifies as original research, due to the fact that Nintendo has never released any type of description of Arcanine that attributes cat-like properties to it. -- The M.P. 20:20, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WHAT?

[edit]

Arcinane isn't a legendary pokemon is it?

No, but the Species is still Legendary. TheBlazikenMaster 16:24, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Small Flaw

[edit]

Although small, there is undoubtably error in the statement "In other words, Arcanine is a cross between a dog and a liger." It is mentioned earlier in the article that Arcanine possesses markings and a build similar to that of a tiger, but that it also possesses a mane similar to that of male lion. While it may appear obvious that a liger could be used as an example instead of both a lion and a tiger, it simply can't. Ligers cannot possess a mane similar to that of a male lion, due to the fact that they are the hybrid offspring of a male tiger and a female lion, and they generally don't possess markings similar to those of a tiger. To take things a step further, a tigon, the hybrid offspring of a male lion a female tiger, may possess a mane similar, and stress similar, to that of a lion, and they may also possess markings similar to those of a tiger, making Arcanine more similar to a mix of a dog and a tigon. The best thing to do, though, would be to simply take out the statement. Anyone else have some thoughts on this? -- The M.P. 20:15, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
