[edit]Fake quote
"Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it only because the only alternative is special creation which is unthinkable."
This quote was allegedly taken from the foreward Keith wrote in the 100th anniversary edition of Darwin's Origin of Speciesin 1959. This is false. He wrote an introduction to an edition of this book, but that was nearly 30 years before. Keith died in 1955. This quote is nothing more than a fabrication by creationists.

removed quote
[edit]Since the quote does appear to be fake, and since no one's been able to come up with any citation for it since April, I've removed it.
- This quote has been put back into the article. The source listed is http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/238, which does not directly cite the quote but only cites another work (by W.A. Criswell, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention and believer in Biblical inerrancy) that referenced this quote--that is to say, there is no direct citation of the quote itself. Given the agendas of apologeticspress and Criswell, given the apparent debunking of the quote in the talkorigins page listed above, and given the plain fact that the citation for the quote in this article is in no way a direct citation of the quote itself, it appears that this needs to be removed again, which I will now do. It would seem advisable to keep an eye out for it returning to this article in the future, as it appears to be an oft-cited quote by those whose agenda it supports. G-my 00:01, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
References!!!!
[edit]All the quotes must have appropriate references!!!! Ljohank 21:33, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
They should also list the page number(s) on which the quote appears.--Digthepast (talk) 12:50, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Removal of quotes section
[edit]I deleted the quotes section. None of them are referenced, no other biographies of prominent scientists seem to have them and Wikiquote would seem to be the approriate place for them. I'm also concerned about the references for this article as both of them link to Creationist or IDist websites. A little balance would be good, as would reliable sources. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.168.241.1 (talk) 16:07, 6 May 2007 (UTC).
Shakespeare reference
[edit]The reference to Shakespeare seems a little out of place. I don't know Merchant of Venice well enough to know if it an accurate cross-reference. Also, the wording seems to be POV (he is only saying...).
Out-of-date info and link
[edit]The text states that full-text editions of several of Keith's works are available online. This is apparently no longer the case. the linked page does not appear to contain links pointing to those works. it appears that the linked page was recently modified.--Digthepast (talk) 15:37, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I removed the two reactorcore.org links; they led to "this page has been removed" pages. I cannot get the designeduniverse.org link to come up, but I'm not sure it's dead. Tumblecat (talk) 01:05, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
