Number of columns allowed for Peak-positions

[edit]

We currently have 11 peak-positions for the tables of the singles. Since we've had number of anonymous IPs making attempts inserting an additional column for Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, I'd like to remind all those editors that we are to have approximately 10 columns for peaks, see bullet 6 at Wikipedia:WikiProject Discographies/style#Per-release. It clearly states: A limit of approximately 10 separate charts is suggested.--Harout72 (talk) 19:21, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Chart question

[edit]

Can we replace the Austria Top 40 (AUT) chart with Hot R&B chart (US R&B) chart? It just seems more relevant to her discography page. Horizonlove (talk) 05:30, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

R&B is not a chart based on sales, it is more important to have official singles charts of as many markets where the artist has charted. Official singles charts are based on sales, therefore, they should not be replaced by R&B charts or any other charts that are not based on sales. By the way, before you went back and reverted my edit you should have established a consensus.--Harout72 (talk) 21:06, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One more thing, replacing Austria's chart with R&B chart and supporting it with Canada's chart as you've done in this edit is nothing by disruptive editing.--Harout72 (talk) 21:12, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Harout72: First off it is not disruptive editing. DO NOT abuse a term like that in this situation. The ref name said it was a "US/Canada's singles-positions to Ashanti" with R&B being a US Chart, it was understandable to assume that whomever the editor was that named that reference would sum up all US chart positions under that source. Second, it would be more relevant to have a chart which represent more of her chart history. With the Austria Top 40, she only has two songs on that chart. And sales has nothing to do with whether or not the chart should be listed here, otherwise we would never list it in other popular discography pages. Horizonlove (talk) 23:10, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You can list as many charts as you wish on the pages of her individual singles and albums. However, having the US R&B charts on the discography also is unnecessary as we already have the Hot 100 which is enough representation of her chart performance in the US. It is more important to list chart performances of other markets, regardless of how many of her singles have charted. Having said that, if you wish to replace Austria by another market which happens to have more chart peaks, I'm open to discussing that.--Harout72 (talk) 23:21, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
