Edits for Avast SecureLine VPN page
[edit]I work in marketing at Avast and I would like to make a few changes/updates to the SecureLine VPN page to make it more concise and do some copy edits. Does anyone mind if I make some tweaks? pinging @Der Golem: @Concus Cretus: @Anarchyte: Empey at Avast (talk) 21:53, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Empey at Avast: Hi, we'd appreciate it if you could list the changes here and have someone else do them. See WP:COI and {{edit request}}. Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:12, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Anarchyte: I put together a draft of the changes for review here. Comments are in red and changes are in bold or strikeout. Empey at Avast (talk) 20:40, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Empey at Avast: I modified the lead accordingly, but kept the bulk of the background section. However, I did remove the price. Feel free to let me know if you have any other concerns. Cheers, Anarchyte (work | talk) 04:12, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

The following claims constitute improper synthesis, because the cited source does not mention Avast SecureLine at all:
SecureLine VPN encrypts the user's internet traffic and redirects the traffic through a tunnel via Avast data centers. This changes the geolocation of the IP address of the user to that of the selected VPN server.[1]
SecureLine VPN users' both outgoing and incoming internet traffic is encrypted and redirected through a tunnel via Avast data centers. This changes the geolocation of the IP address of the user to that of the selected VPN server.[1]

The {{Synthesis inline}} tags I added in December 2019 were removed in Special:Diff/946445955 without addressing the issue. These claims need to be cited to sources that specifically mention Avast SecureLine, or be removed from the article altogether. — Newslinger talk 11:52, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
