Omnipresent blonde "bombshell" of the Fifties

[edit]

Link above leads to a book with a lot of information about Barbara Nichols. With her trembly voice and vulnerable manner, she carved out a niche as a pop culture icon the way the Gabor sisters did. Nichols was in a surprising number of good movies, unlike the Gabors, but she didn't marry rich or famous men, as they did. She had a great role on The Untouchables, which helped kicked that iconic series off. A fine supporting actress-- though she didn't seem to be pretending to be the characters she played-- whose face, voice, and Guys and Dolls outer borough accent would be familiar to anybody who was alive during the Fifties, though nobody knew her by name, even then. There isn't a picture of her on Pinterest, and that's a shame. I had to Google "blonde gangster moll on TV" to find her. But here she is on Wikipedia. Here's to Barbara Nichols and to Wikipedia for its role in preserving pop culture. Profhum (talk) 04:31, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
