Unsourced content added - by whom?

[edit]

With this edit I added content, supported by two external-link citations, attesting to the existence of a post-WWII DP camp at Barletta. Unsourced content was subsequently added to read:

...by the famous James Bond. He was able to prevent many illegal jewish immigrants from reaching Palestine from Southern Italy.

I'm occluding that content until it's verified. -- Deborahjay (talk) 12:52, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lots of unsourced content added...

[edit]

...in a dozen edits on July 3 and 4, 2010 by User:79.52.31.200, such as "Drug, cigarette and people smuggling are the other major economic activities." in the Economy section. Also the occluded material from the earlier comment (above) was made visible with no reference provided. I call into question User:79.52.31.200's editing practices; is content such as "Barletta is a city whose economy is entirely based on the manufacture of concrete and cement." reliable? It appears inconsistent with the information on the page in the Italian Wikipedia, where Barletta is a Featured Article. Noted on the User's Talk page. -- Deborahjay (talk) 18:45, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also noted on the Discussion pages of WikiProject Italy and WikiProject Kingdom of Naples. -- Deborahjay (talk) 19:02, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ettore Fieramosca

[edit]

Ettore Fieramosca was born in Capua, Campania, not in Barletta. I'm not sure he should be listed in the 'Notable people' section. Overbridge (talk) 18:08, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
