Reasons for creating this page

[edit]

I created this page so that pre-existing red links pointing to it would have somewhere to point. Another user had seen the redlink in Y-12 National Security Complex and helpfully disambiguated "Bechtel Jacobs" to Bechtel, which is inaccurate. I have no particular love for Bechtel Jacobs, but I don't like that kind of inaccuracy, so after I undid that erroneous link "correction" I created a minimal article about Bechtel Jacobs. This article also changed the color of a long-existing redlink in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Plenty more could be written about this company, which is a major employer in the region (both direct employees and subcontractor personnel), and the sources would not be limited to the company's own website. Ironically (and contrary to the allegation in the speedy deletion tag), this company has no particular interest in advertising itself, as it has no legal existence outside of its federal government contract. Furthermore, one of its main missions is to reduce its workforce (i.e., lay people off). --orlady 03:28, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, I withdraw my speedy deletion request (can I do that?). I got a bit trigger-happy watching Special:Newpages. Apologies. --Iknowyourider (t c) 03:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
