I am not the primary author of the article on myself, but contributed to it significantly. I wish to present a neutral POV of events without conflict of interest. There was a flag to that effect placed on the article, but in my infinite Internet savvy/wisdom, I managed to delete it from this page. I welcome fixes that will make the article more neutral, but I have one request -- that you also note changes made here so if there's any back-and-forth necessary, I will see it, and we can get the article locked in as soon as possible.

I adore Wiki and am excited to have my own biographical information preserved in such a format.

Thanks! BPJ Media Inc (talk) 17:22, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hey Ben, welcome to Wikipedia. I suppose as much as anyone I could be considered the "primary author" since I started the article way back when. If you haven't already I encourage you to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography for guidance on the best way to contribute to an article about yourself. As far as noting changes to the article, if you click on the history tab at the top of the article you will see a revision history. Anyone making a major edit to the article should note the gist of their changes in an edit summary (as you've been doing). You can also use the revision history page to compare older and newer versions of the article. Otto4711 (talk) 17:32, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Otto, Thanks for the welcome. I did indeed read the guidelines (in the middle of the extended process of revising and updating -- hence so many revisions.) It's a good exercise, though: attempting to write objectively about one's own life. I particularly tried to nail the NPOV in the graphs about Extra and Capitol Resource Institute. How'd I do? (Seriously.) BPJ Media Inc (talk) 16:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Otto,

Can you assist, then, in getting the conflict-of-interest flag removed?

BPJ Media Inc (talk) 04:02, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd suggest putting {{helpme}} on your talk page and asking for additional assistance. Someone with a better understanding of the general COI issue should probably look at it too, since you and I have both been heavily involved in writing the article. The helpme tag alerts the general Wiki-public that you're looking for assistance and another editor with more expertise will come along soon after it's placed.
